The problem

Conventional assignments now measure the wrong thing.

Artificial intelligence has changed education more rapidly than schools have been able to respond. Students can now generate essays, solve problems, and answer factual questions in seconds. As AI systems become more capable, conventional assignments increasingly measure a student's ability to use AI rather than their capacity for independent reasoning, inquiry, and creativity.

Rather than using AI to replace student thinking, InquiryLab uses AI to help teachers design learning experiences where the thinking still belongs to students.

Inquiry-based learning has consistently been shown to improve engagement, deeper understanding, critical thinking, collaboration, and the ability to transfer learning to new situations. Yet designing excellent inquiry units requires enormous amounts of planning, research, curriculum design, assessment development, and content expertise. For many teachers, the challenge has never been believing in inquiry — it has been finding the time to build it well.
